‘Mayura Vahana at Sri Subramaniam koil, Parayakadavu, Kollam district, Kerala. The peacock is the “vahana” (mount or vehicle) of the god Subramaniam, and just before this newly inaugurated temple was opened, a peacock appeared and made his home there.’
